Looking through some of my archived recordings from the past month, I found this broadcast from The Crystal Ship, on the TCS Relay Network.

Conditions were a little tough at the time and you’ll hear some some SSB interference near the end, but the mix is worth it. I started this recording around 1:15 UTC on February 26th, 2013, on 6.9255 MHz, capturing the last third of the show (based on HF Underground logs).

  1. The Crystal Ship - Shortwave

Magic Bus, Heavy Metal, Running on Empty, Born To Run— ‘The Crystal Ship – Unchained’ show is a subtle ode to pirate radio mobile capability. I happen to know that this particular broadcast was transmitted using an 8-foot modified hamstick-type antenna, independent of mains-electricity, from a motor vehicle.

Thanks for all your work covering shortwave pirate radio, along with publishing all these recordings. I love this site!

You’re mighty welcome, John. When my crazy travel quietens down in a few weeks, I hope to do much more pirate radio listening. Such a great part of the hobby!
