Prime Time Shortwave may be shutting down

PrimeTimeShortwave-ScreenGrabMany thanks to SWLing Post reader, Chris Crosby, for passing along this information from Daniel Sampson of Prime Time Shortwave:

Prime Time Shortwave shutting down June 26, 2015
~.~.~
It is disappointing to have to do this but it looks like I may be discontinuing the Prime Time Shortwave website June 24. Where I have the Prime Time Shortwave hosted, Front Page extensions will no longer be supported, and the costs for using their website builder is too high added to the server space. I expected this day would eventually come since the Front Page product was discontinued in 2006.

I have been doing the Prime Time Shortwave website for 17 years and it is getting difficult to find the time to work on it.

Regards,
Daniel Sampson

The rising costs of internet websites is hurting this hobby to the point that a few conglomerates will soon control all access to the web. If you do not have corporate support either in the form of advertising or sponsorship you will soon see other sites go the way of Prime Time Shortwave. To add insult to injury this hobby relies on volunteer labour and the lack of new volunteers to help share the workload is burning out the veterans. It is a vicious cycle.

    Daniel,

When I first started in the Hobby in 2012, I used your website and frequency schedules daily for my SWL enjoyment. As a new listener I found the information valuable to include links to other SW sites. I still use your information. Thank you for the hard work you did in keeping the site fresh and revalent. I will miss the site. Such a shame. Thanks again.
