Came across this site on building a 3-transistor shortwave radio similar to the kit offered by Radio Shack years ago:

Very cool!  Thanks for sharing this, Richard.

When I have a little time, I’ll go through my parts box and see how many of these components I already have. The author also supplies an excellent assembly manual for download and print. It would be fantastic if someone would kit up the parts list and offer it as a package. Regardless, this will make for a fun winter project!

This is a great project. I remember building the original as a kid and wish I still had it. I may take a crack at this one. The P-Box resource he mentions is a great site. At one point someone on eBay was selling a P-Box replica project box, but they seem to be gone now. I would like to see someone come up with some kitted replicas.

If you’re interested in building regen radios in general, two really good regen kits to look at are the QRPKITS.com Scout (http://qrpkits.com/scoutregen.html) and the 4-state-QRP-group’s Ozark Patrol (http://www.4sqrp.com/ozarkpatrol.php). I have an un-built Ozark in my possession that I intend to put together during my next school break.
