Video: Tecsun PL-880 vs. PL-660 on a local AM station

In the following video, I have tuned both the Tecsun PL-880 and the PL-660 to a relatively local AM station (880 kHz). Note that I had the tone control switch set to “bass” on the PL-880 (it would have been better on “treble”):

For normal AM radio listening, I believe the PL-880 produces better audio fidelity than the PL-660. I will try to record a weak medium wave station this evening, if time allows.

I think by “relatively local” you mean distance, not strength. 🙂 I noticed the dBu meter indicating about 36-39, and could hear a bit of noise behind the signal. 🙂
In comparison, my much-smaller Tecsun PL-606 indicates about 45 dBu on 640-KFI at 99 miles, and 47 dBu on 1070-KNX at 111 miles. Neither of them are considered “local” stations here, but have nearly clear signals on a good radio away from electrical noise. 🙂
As for locals, I have 760-KFMB at 72 dBu, 1130-KSDO at 75 dBu, and 1170-KCBQ at 81 dBu, plus several others over 60 dBu. How does the PL-880 behave with the stronger locals? 🙂
