I placed my order the morning of the 12th and now its backordered and marked “not available for shipping”
Frys said that they think they are getting them back in stock some time in December. Good luck. I ordered a Field BT a couple days before this with the Amazon price drop then ordered this thinking I would send back the Field BT but now I am thinking I may keep it.

The Eton Grundig Executive Satellit is the same radio as the Eton Grundig Edition Satellit with some cosmetic differences. The Grundig Executive has a light colored case with a leather flap cover. The Grundig Edition is a black radio with a fabric pouch. Both are the same Eton radio with identical functions.

It appears that the Eton Grundig Edition Satellit was discontinued early this year while the Professional has remained in production. I purchased a brand new black version several weeks ago at a close-out price of $116.

These little Satellits are decent multiband portables and worth what you pay for them at slightly above $100. These radios use the Silicon Labs DSP chip as do Sangean and Tecsun in some of their radios. The Satellit audio sounds a bit thin on headphones and very restricted on the built-in speakers. These are lightweight radios and are subject to hand capacitance during SW operation. They have very good sensitivity. Several bandwidths are available for shortwave but they are much wider than described. I found the 6 kHz Sangean ATS-909X ceramic filter to be much more selective than the Satellit DSP filters at 6, 4, 3, and 2.5 kHz. These Satellits have no audio tone control and a LOCAL/DX switch instead of an RF gain. The Satellits are excellent performers for SSB and ECSS thanks to 10 Hz frequency resolution and narrow filters. I haven’t tried the air band performance on the Satellit.

If I were in the market for another portable, this would probably be the one I would pick up. Always have heard good things about this receiver.
