There’s something curious about listening to this tiny Sony SRF-SR84 receiver: when I hold it close to this metal fence, the medium wave reception improves significantly.
Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor and noted political cartoonist Carlos Latuff, who shares the following illustrated radio listening report.

Hey Roland, congratulations on the purchase; you’ve likely realized how sensitive is this little gem—the kind you’d carry in an EDC kit. Record some listenings and share with us.
Greetings from Brazil.
Hi Carlos,
after your short review of this little gem, i got me one from Ebay.
It is – for its size – very sensitiv and selectiv. Even it is very easy to adjust frequency.
Most stations i could hear with the D808 i also could hear with S84.
I just got it yesterday and tested for less than an hour.
Plan to go through the Rob Ross challange soon, and that will be one of the receivers i’am going to use.
I do have the SRF-39, 49 and 59 as well. To verify frequency i use a todays rcvr.
Keep up with your great work and art!
