More keeping on from Radio Skybird and Radio Ace

Greetings to all the SWLing community, hope things are well, wherever you are. This week coming, Imaginary Stations hoist the sails on the pirate ship Skybird again and brings you another audio voyage in the Free Radio Skybird series and it’s the third and final planned broadcast of the station this year.

Tune in on Saturday 22nd March 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 23rd March 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. As with last week’s show, expect some great tunes, onshore and offshore classics and lots of interesting bits and pieces as usual.

On Wednesday 26th March 2025 at the new time of 0200 UTC via WRMI we bring you possibly what could be the finale of Radio Ace. Tune in for what may be the last time we hear from the great DJ Flash Frisbone. It may have a sad or a happy ending but Flash will be missed, tune in and find out what actually happens.

Onshore and offshore, Radio Skybird keeps on keeping on

Greetings to all SWLing community. This week in the world of shortwave entertainment, Imaginary Stations bring you more eclectic programming. As part of the 15th year anniversary series we have a transmission of Free Radio Skybird 2. Tune in on Saturday 15th March 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 16th March 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz.

As with last week’s show, expect more tunes from the onshore and offshore genre, a mini-feature on the musician Jim Sullivan and lots more interesting stuff during the hour that’s beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold. Turn on (the shortwave radio) and tune in.

On Wednesday 19th March 2025 at the new time of 0200 UTC via WRMI we bring you another episode of the excellent Shortwave Music Library by DJ Frederick. A show well worth tuning into if you the like all sorts musicwise.

Good day all SWLing community, we’re letting you know what we’ll be sending out across those airwaves this week. The first is a return of all things esoteric when it come to your listening pleasure with Free Radio Skybird. Tune in on Saturday 8th March 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 9th March 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz brought to you via the transmitters of Shortwave Gold

Expect some onshore, offshore and all sorts of sounds from the sky (bird). Tune in for your audio treat.

Is that whistling I hear, my dear?

We at Imaginary Stations have another whistling and in gainful employment combination show coming out over the airwaves this weekend. It’s called WSTL—WORK 2 of course. It’s on Saturday 1st March 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 2nd March 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz brought to you via Shortwave Gold

We hope in your part of the world you will get a “clean as a whistle” signal so you can enjoy our show which is a cracker if we say so ourselves. So change into your overalls/coveralls or even an interview whistle (AKA whistle and flute in cockney rhyming slang), put on those eye and ear protectors and slip into some soft steel toe-capped boots and listen in at the alloted time and enjoy some fine tunes that will bring a smile to your face.

Then on Wednesday 5th March 2025 at 0300 UTC via WRMI we bring you WRBW the station that has the motto “Where rainbows connect us all”. Expect music containing all the colours of the rainbow and tunes from the colour swatch book of hits. If all goes well they’ll be an interview with Roy G. Biv himself. Tune in and enjoy the Kaleidoscopic vibes.

Whistling on the shortwaves

Do you enjoy whistling while you’re at work? We at Imaginary Stations do too and our next programme is the combo show called WSTL—WORK, brought to you by the powers of shortwave radio via Shortwave Gold. The show goes out on Saturday 22nd February 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 23rd February 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz.

Expect lots of whistling tunes to keep you going through those shifts at work, ones to keep the Robin in your garden amused if you have the radio on while maintaining the flower beds and songs to make you feel like the wandering whistler (if you’re tuned in whilst on a treadmill). And as we have just read, “People whistle to communicate feelings which cannot be readily expressed in words.” Tune in and receive those (shortwave) feelings.

We also have another episode of Radio Ace featuring the fantastic adventures of the ground/rule breaking DJ Flash Frisbone alongside all sorts of interesting stuff on Wednesday 26th February 2025 at 0300 UTC via WRMI. Tune in as Radio is Ace!

Bigfoot seen in the local supermarket twice

Good day all SWLing Post community! FastRadioBurst 23 here with this week’s Imaginary Stations transmissions.

On Saturday 15th February 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 16th February 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz via Shortwave Gold we’ll be bringing you another Beatles to Bigfoot. It’s a mixture of Lennon & McCartney, songs about Sasquatch and aliens if you remember the show from last week. We bring you more of the same!

Then on Wednesday 19th February 2025 at 0300 UTC via WRMI we bring you KMRT, your official shortwave supermarket station. Expect short-term discounts that are indicated by a flashing blue light, a book at bedtime (if it is bedtime when you’re tuning in) from the thriller called “A chance meeting in the Middle Aisle”, tips from an ex-shelf stacker and much much more. Beatles, Bigfoot and Skybird

Good day all SWLing Post community! FastRadioBurst 23 here with what Imaginary Stations will be bringing you this week for your listening pleasure.

On Saturday 8th February 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 9th February 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz via Shortwave Gold we’ll be bringing you Beatles to Bigfoot, a show with the songs of Lennon/McCartney covered in a way you’ve never heard before, beatles soundalikes, plus UFOs, flying saucers and if all goes well a Yeti Choir (*subject to availability and time constraints). It’s a odd mixture but a very nice odd mixture.

On Wednesday 12th February 2025 at 0300 UTC via WRMI we bring you a special archive edition of Free Radio Skybird. Fly Skybird fly!
