The warbling doesn&#8217;t sound as if it is being caused by the propagation. Have you heard this before?<\/p>\n<p>I have attached a short recording. I&#8217;m not sure this could be a modulation issue. Perhaps it&#8217;s both? I asked him for more details; he replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I built another version <a title=\"The original WBR\" href=\"http:\/\/aa7ee.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/24\/the-wbr-a-simple-high-performance-regen-receiver-for-40m-by-n1byt\/\" target=\"_blank\">of the WBR<\/a>. The original version, as well as the first version I built, was for the 40M amateur band. I was intrigued to see how it would perform on other frequencies, so I built a version for the 31M band.\u00a0 The only change I need to make now is a bit of filtering to provide some rolloff of the bass frequencies, as they are hurting the intelligibility in my opinion.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_7111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10260\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_7111.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7111\" width=\"950\" height=\"634\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_7111.jpg 950w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_7111-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_7111-100x66.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px\" \/><\/a>Wow! What a cool little home brew project! And many thanks to Dave for the brilliant photos of the WBR.
