Stephen follows schedules closely as he has <a href=\"http:\/\/shortwave.am\" target=\"_blank\">a website<\/a> <a title=\"Google Play\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.msi.shortwave\" target=\"_blank\">and app<\/a> devoted to shortwave radio schedules.<\/p>\n<p>This does seem like a lot of effort if VOR has no intention of returning to the shortwaves.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen also points to <a href=\"http:\/\/lenta.ru\/articles\/2014\/05\/26\/radio\/\" target=\"_blank\">this article<\/a>\u00a0which mentions that Russia may be\u00a0bringing back shortwave and a new body might\u00a0be in charge of operations.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect if VOR is returning to shortwave, it is in reaction to the recent changes at the Voice of America\/Radio Liberty and the promise that <a title=\"US House passes H.R. 4490\" href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/us-house-passes-h-r-4490\/\" target=\"_blank\">HR4490<\/a> might increase a pro-US presence on the air.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, we might not know until VOR actually resumes shortwave\u00a0broadcasts.<\/p>\n<p>We will keep you posted! <a title=\"Other posts tagged VOR\" href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/tag\/vor\">Follow the tag: VOR<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SWLing Post reader, Stephen Cooper, writes: &#8220;Voice of Russia to return to shortwave October 1, 2014.
