By design, SLR-M chassis is a part of the overall circuit, thus can be &#8220;hot&#8221; and never\u00a0grounded. Several other radios of the era were designed this way and rarely cause electric shock, but since I have small children in the house, I like to play it safe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tripp-Lite.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-11669\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tripp-Lite-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Tripp-Lite\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tripp-Lite-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tripp-Lite-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tripp-Lite.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the moment, I&#8217;m leaning toward a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00006HPFH\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00006HPFH&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20&amp;linkId=IA3FSOFDLZWZQEO3\" target=\"_blank\">Tripp Lite IS250 Isolation Transformer<\/a>. It seems to be a favorite amongst vintage radio collectors, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00006HPFH\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00006HPFH&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20&amp;linkId=IA3FSOFDLZWZQEO3\" target=\"_blank\">but at $110<\/a>, it&#8217;s certainly an investment I want to make wisely.<\/p>\n<p>If you have advice about isolation transformers, or about the Tripp Lite specifically, please comment below.
