My talented pal, Dave Richards, has built yet another home-brew regenerative receiver\u2013\u2013which he dubs the Sproutie MK II\u2013<\/a>\u2013and wow, it’s a thing of beauty.<\/p>\n

Dave tells me has been working on this receiver for many months, and upon viewing the following photos\u00a0of it, it’s clear to see why he took his sweet\u00a0time. As in\u00a0his\u00a0original Sproutie<\/a>, a\u00a0vintage HRO dial has taken pride of place as\u00a0the centerpiece of his rig; it looks stunning.<\/p>\n

But\u00a0the Sproutie MK II is not only painstakingly-crafted on the outside; like\u00a0Shaker furnishings,\u00a0wrought for the eyes of\u00a0God\u00a0both outwardly and within, the interior of\u00a0Dave’s receiver\u00a0is equally well-crafted.<\/p>\n

Okay, maybe that’s a little<\/em> over the top…but if\u00a0you doubt me, just join me in\u00a0admiration of this\u00a0board:<\/p>\n

As for performance? \u00a0Of course, with such a clean interior,\u00a0the\u00a0Sproutie II performs like a champ. \u00a0Dave posted a few\u00a0videos<\/a> showing how his new receiver commands the airwaves and aptly handles AM, SSB, and CW.<\/p>\n

That’s an amazing<\/em> piece of kit you’ve created\u00a0there, Dave! \u00a0Hats off to your incredible craftsmanship.<\/p>\n
