In summary, he writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It\u2019s a great radio with top FM, AM, and speaker sound. It blows away my C.Crane Radio-2E. Lack of illumination, however, makes it less than ideal as a bedside clock radio.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tOkr9rfH6Kw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wow! I&#8217;m most impressed that Jeff places the PR-D4W (<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1FEyRLc\" target=\"_blank\">which retails for <strong>$69<\/strong> on Amazon<\/a>) above the venerable CCRadio-2E (<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1FEzdl2\" target=\"_blank\">which retails for <strong>$169<\/strong> on Amazon<\/a>) in terms of AM performance.<\/p>\n<p>I just checked and it appears that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universal-radio.com\/catalog\/wx\/6422.html\" target=\"_blank\">Universal Radio also retails the PR-D4W for $69.95<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Follow Jeff at <a href=\"http:\/\/herculodge.typepad.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Herculodge<\/a> and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCBOJDkROOD9A3hsy6epVK4A\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My pal, Jeff McMahon, over at the Herculodge, has just posted a video review of the Sangean PR-D4 portable radio.
