Radio Kiribati 1440 JUST started a live web stream&#8230;JUST&#8230;as in, like within the last few days!<\/p>\n<p>The audio levels can be a bit loud and overdriven at times, but i am corresponding with their Chief Engineer and the Radio station manager at the Broadcasting &amp; Publications Authority in an effort to get levels set just right.<\/p>\n<p>The audio is average and I wouldn&#8217;t expect much more, quality wise, then what they&#8217;ve got now.. as most of these stations have hare basics when it comes to some equipment.<br \/>\nThe Radio Kiribati stream was just added to the Reciva.com database for internet radios and should be there soon if it isn&#8217;t already.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1M6pHs2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15043 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/CC-Wifi-Radio.jpg\" alt=\"CC-Wifi-Radio\" width=\"650\" height=\"524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/CC-Wifi-Radio.jpg 650w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/CC-Wifi-Radio-300x242.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The stream is at <a href=\"http:\/\/202.6.120.13:8000\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/202.6.120.13:8000\/<\/a> The stream itself is of amazing quality at 64k vorbis, which sounds good to my ears via my <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1M6pHs2\" target=\"_blank\">CC Wifi Radio<\/a> and CCrane Senta speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Radio Kiribati only broadcasts local programming at certain times of day. Sometimes I&#8217;ll hear Radio New Zealand International outside of local broadcasting, other times I won&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>TX times are as follows&#8230;most of their programming is in their native language, which is Gilbertese according to Wikipedia. It&#8217;s a Micronesian language of the Austronesian language family. They do three segments of English broadcasting every day, some 30 minutes long and one is an hour long.<br \/>\nKiribati is UTC+14&#8230; at 416pm Thursday in Southwest Arkansas, where i am.. it&#8217;s 916am Friday morning in Kiribati.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Morning: 0700am to 0830am. English at 8am<\/li>\n<li>Lunch: 1200 noon to 1330. English at 1300<\/li>\n<li>Evening: 1700 to 2130. English at 1800<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Feel free to post this to your own blog, website, Facebook group or page.. let&#8217;s spread the word!!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thanks, Paul!<\/p>\n<h3>WiFi radios<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_15044\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Pure-Evoke-F4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15044\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15044\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Pure-Evoke-F4-300x245.jpg\" alt=\"Though pricey, I've heard the Pure Evoke F4 has fantastic audio and a meticulously curated database of Internet streams. \" width=\"300\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Pure-Evoke-F4-300x245.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Pure-Evoke-F4.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-15044\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Though pricey, I&#8217;ve heard the Pure Evoke F4 has fantastic audio and a meticulously curated database of Internet streams.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This is one of the benefits of Wi-Fi radios and Internet streams: the ability to hear &#8220;local&#8221; stations&#8211;many of which used to broadcast on shortwave&#8211;from all corners of the globe.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m seriously considering purchasing a Wi-Fi radio for my wife to make it a little easier for her to listen to Internet streams in her office.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been looking at the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1MTXIKH\" target=\"_blank\">C.Crane CC WiFi radio<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccrane.com\/WiFi\/CC-WiFi-2-Black-Internet-Radio-w-TuneIn-Bluetooth-and-FM\" target=\"_blank\">CC WiFi 2<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1MaMoXG\" target=\"_blank\">Grace Digital WiFi Music Player<\/a> and the (<em>much<\/em> pricier) <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1MaMheA\" target=\"_blank\">Pure Evoke F4<\/a> which my buddy, John Figliozzi, so highly recommends.<\/p>\n<p>Any suggestions and recommendations are most welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many thanks to SWLing Post reader, Paul Walker, who writes: Thomas..
