The newer Anker<br \/>\nbattery is only capable of delivering 1.5A from the 12V supply. Two look alike batteries<br \/>\nI tried did not have the auto-off feature that the Anker does.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vetco.net<\/strong><br \/>\nACC2 and I\/Q Jacks 2 x 2.5mm Stereo Jack Panel Mount (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=6830\" target=\"_blank\">PH-666J-B<\/a>)<br \/>\nPhone, Key, and ACC1 3 x 3.5mm Stereo Jack Panel Mount (High Quality) (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=7357\" target=\"_blank\">PH-504KB<\/a>)<br \/>\nMic Jack 1 x 3.5mm 4 Conductor Jack Panel Mount (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=6827\" target=\"_blank\">PH-70-088B<\/a>)<br \/>\n12V IN and CHG IN 2 x 2.1mm DC Power Panel Mount Jack (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=12259\" target=\"_blank\">PH-2112<\/a>)<br \/>\n12V OUT 1 x 2.5mm DC Power Panel Mount Jack (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=12265&amp;keywords=PH-2512\" target=\"_blank\">PH-2512<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>You also need plugs and wire for interconnects. I bought some 2.5mm (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=7679\" target=\"_blank\">CES-11-5502<\/a>)<br \/>\nand 3.5mm (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=8001\" target=\"_blank\">PH-44-468<\/a> for stereo, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=7405\" target=\"_blank\">PH-44-470<\/a> for 4-conductor) audio cables with right<br \/>\nangle plugs and just cut them to use for the signal lines going to the KX3. I did the same<br \/>\nthing for the 2.5mm (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=1341\" target=\"_blank\">PH-TC250<\/a>) and 2.1mm (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=12261\" target=\"_blank\">PH-TC210<\/a>) power cables. A couple of<br \/>\ncaveats are in order. The Phone, Key, and ACC1 interconnects require low profile<br \/>\nright angle connectors. The cables I listed above won\u2019t work. Vetco part number<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetco.net\/catalog\/product_info.php?products_id=11362&amp;keywords=VUPN10338\" target=\"_blank\">VUPN10338<\/a> will work. The power cables I\u2019ve listed above use 24 gauge wire. This<br \/>\nis a little light, but the runs are small so I think it is OK. You can use higher gauge<br \/>\ncables if you can find a source.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USBfirewire.com<\/strong><br \/>\nUSB OUT USB 2.0 Right Angle Extension Cable (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usbfirewire.com\/parts\/rr-aar04p-xxg.html\" target=\"_blank\">RR-AAR04P-20G<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digikey.com<\/strong><br \/>\nL Brackets 8 x Bracket Rt Ang Mount 4-40 Steel (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.digikey.com\/product-detail\/en\/612\/36-612-ND\/416364\" target=\"_blank\">612K-ND<\/a>)<br \/>\nThese L brackets are used to mount the KX3 to the panel and the panel to the case.<br \/>\nFor mounting the KX3, I use a little piece of stick on felt on the bracket to protect the<br \/>\nKX3\u2019s cabinet from damage. Replace the KX3\u2019s screws with #4-40 Thread Size, 1\/4\u201d<br \/>\nLength Steel Pan Head Machine Screw, Black Oxide Finish (see below). For the panel<br \/>\nmounting, use #6-32 Thread Size, 3\/16\u201d Length self tapping sheet metal screw. You<br \/>\nmay need to cut the tip off in order to not puncture the outside of the case.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coaxrf.com\/shop\/bnc-male-angle-rg316\/rg316-bnc-male-angle-to-bnc-female-sm-bulkhead-coaxial-rf-pigtail-cable\/\" target=\"_blank\">RG316 BNC Male Angle to BNC Female SM Bulkhead Coaxial RF Pigtail Cable<\/a> (6\u201d)<br \/>\nThis is not the original interconnect I used for connecting the KX3\u2019s antenna output to<br \/>\nthe panel. However, I think it is a better option for new designs. The caveat is that you<br \/>\nwill need to verify the hole in the panel matches the bulkhead connector on this cable.<br \/>\nThere will be a little loop in the cable when you are done, but that is fine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Micrfasteners.com<\/strong><br \/>\nScrews for Sound Card 2 x <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microfasteners.com\/fmsp2510-m-2.5-x-.45-x-10mm-flat-head-machine-screws-phillips-stainless.html\" target=\"_blank\">FMSP2510 &#8211; M 2.5 x .45 x 10mm<\/a><br \/>\nScrews for KX3 Bracket Mount 4 x <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microfasteners.com\/msppk0404-4-40-x-1-4-pan-head-machine-screws-phillips-steel-with-black-oxide-plating.html\" target=\"_blank\">MSPPK0404 &#8211; 4-40 x 1\/4<\/a><br \/>\nScrews for Countersunk Panel Holes 8 x <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microfasteners.com\/fmppk0403-4-40-x-3-16-flat-head-machine-screws-phillips-stl-blk-ox.html\" target=\"_blank\">FMPPK0403 &#8211; 4-40 x 3\/16<\/a><br \/>\nScrews for USB Connector *** 2 x <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microfasteners.com\/fmppk0406-4-40-x-3-8-flat-head-machine-screws-phillips-blk-ox.html\" target=\"_blank\">FMPPK0406 &#8211; 4-40 x 3\/8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m pretty sure these are the right length for the USB connector. I am doing it from memory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amazon.com or eBay.com<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00GDDQRH8\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00GDDQRH8&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20&amp;linkId=RS2Y5I6YDYGWZFTK\" target=\"_blank\">Soundmatters foxL DASH A Wireless Bluetooth Soundbar<\/a> (OPTIONAL)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00ENR5TGG\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00ENR5TGG&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20&amp;linkId=2CLJG3USG2CHM3IN\" target=\"_blank\">Sonoma Wire Works GJ2USB GuitarJack 2 USB Portable Audio Interface<\/a> (OPTIONAL)<br \/>\n(Make sure you get the USB model, not the 30-pin model.)<\/p>\n<p>This is optional if you want a built-in sound card interface for a waterfall display using iSDR.\u00a0Make sure to eliminate the holes in the upper left corner of the panel if you are not installing.\u00a0You will also need 2.5mm x 10mm screws to mount this to the bottom of the panel (see below).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhi-ltd.com\/noise-cancelling\/dsp-noise-cancelling-in-line-modules\/compact-in-line.html\" target=\"_blank\">bhi Compact In-Line Noise Eliminating Module<\/a> (OPTIONAL)<\/p>\n<p>In my opinion, the KX3\u2019s noise reduction is totally ineffective for SSB communications. This\u00a0external noise reducing DSP is one solution, albeit an expensive one, to that problem. It is\u00a0only for SSB, not CW or digital modes. It is also available <a href=\"http:\/\/gapantenna.com\/shop\/dsp-audio\/650\/\" target=\"_blank\">from GAP Antenna Products<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_0530.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15700\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_0530-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0530\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_0530.jpg 768w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_0530-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Scott: you have done a <strong>beautiful<\/strong> job here and have spared no expense to make a wonderfully-engineered and rugged go-box.
