But in many of the world\u2019s worst conflict zones, internet access is limited\u2014and people still get much of their information from radio and television.<\/p>\n<p>EC-130s\u2014which has its own nickname, \u201cCommando Solo\u201d\u2014and similar U.S. aircraft like it have broadcast propaganda in nearly all U.S. conflicts since the Vietnam War. Perhaps most famously, EC-130s flew over Libya during the 2011 international intervention in that country, in one case advising Libyan navy sailors to stop resisting and remain in port.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you attempt to leave port, you will be attacked and destroyed immediately,\u201d the EC-130J crew warned via radio in English, French, and Arabic. A Dutch ham radio operator\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/2011\/03\/secret-libya-psyops\/https:\/\/audioboom.com\/boos\/307814-usaf-ec-130j-steel-74-transmitting-on-6877-0-khz-libya-20-march-2011\" target=\"_blank\">overheard and recorded the broadcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Air Force, the EC-130Js deployed to the Middle East in 2015.
