It&#8217;s a beautiful drive and the weather appears to be near-ideal&#8211;clear skies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21224\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ARRL-NPOTA.jpg\" alt=\"ARRL-NPOTA\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ARRL-NPOTA.jpg 250w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ARRL-NPOTA-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>This also affords me the opportunity to activate two &#8220;two-fers&#8221; for the <a href=\"https:\/\/npota.arrl.org\" target=\"_blank\">National Parks On The Air \u00a0(NPOTA)<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains Park (PK01 &amp; NP26)<\/li>\n<li>Appalachian Trail and Great Smoky Mountains Park (NP26 &amp; TR01)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ll only get credit for three activations, but chasers will have a better opportunity to snag two park\u00a0entities in one QSO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I plan to activate the PK01 &amp; NP26 two-fer starting around 17:00 UTC, t<\/strong><strong>hen the NP26 &amp; TR01 two-fer starting around 19:15 UTC. <\/strong><strong>Look for me on 14,286 and 7,286 +\/- 6 kHz.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SWLs: please comment if you happen to hear me at your location!<\/p>\n<p>On the way back from the conference, Sunday morning, I plan to activate the same sites once again (weather permitting).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Around noon (EDT) today, I&#8217;ll start my short journey to the\u00a0W4DXCC conference in Sevierville, TN.
