Besides the long-gone WorldSpace satellite frequencies, the radio covers medium wave, FM, and most of the shortwave range. A brief <a href=\"http:\/\/www.farnell.com\/datasheets\/15419.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">PDF data sheet<\/a> for the radio gives a description of features and operations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/HITACHI-KW-WSI.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21530 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/HITACHI-KW-WSI-229x300.jpg\" alt=\"hitachi-kw-wsi\" width=\"229\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/HITACHI-KW-WSI-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/HITACHI-KW-WSI.jpg 598w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 229px) 100vw, 229px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wikipedia<\/strong> describes this radio&#8217;s satellite service\u00a0as <em><b>1worldspace<\/b>, formerly known as &#8216;WorldSpace&#8217;, is a defunct\u00a0<a title=\"Satellite radio\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Satellite_radio\">satellite radio<\/a>\u00a0network that in its heyday provided service to over 170,000 subscribers in\u00a0<a title=\"East Africa\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/East_Africa\">eastern<\/a>\u00a0and southern Africa, the Middle East, and much of Asia with 96% coming from\u00a0<a title=\"India\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/India\">India<\/a>. It was profitable in India, with 450,000 subscribers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I wonder if the Hitachi KW-WSI is a reasonable performer for shortwave listening?
