{"id":25664,"date":"2017-05-18T06:00:10","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T10:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/?p=25664"},"modified":"2017-05-17T07:32:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-17T11:32:27","slug":"updated-frequency-bands-chart-from-the-arrl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/updated-frequency-bands-chart-from-the-arrl\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated Frequency Bands Chart from the ARRL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/April_2017_Allocations___Color-e1495019832444.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25665\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/April_2017_Allocations___Color-e1495019832444.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"496\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to <em>SWLing Post<\/em> contributor, Steve, who notes that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/graphical-frequency-allocations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the ARRL has updated their downloadable Frequency Band Charts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I find it interesting that the ARRL also noted the following on their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/graphical-frequency-allocations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">download page<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> The new 630-meter and 2200-meter bands are\u00a0<b><i>not yet available for Amateur Radio use<\/i><\/b>. The effective date of the recent FCC\u00a0<i>Report &amp; Order<\/i> granting these allocations has not yet been determined, and until the start date has been set, it is\u00a0<i>not<\/i>\u00a0legal\u00a0under an Amateur Radio license\u00a0to transmit on either band. The FCC will publish a notice in\u00a0<i>The Federal Register<\/i>\u00a0\u201cannouncing such approval and the relevant effective date.\u201d ARRL will announce the UTC notification procedures\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0the effective date to use these new bands as soon as these are known.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve received feedback from <em>SWLing Post<\/em> readers noting a licensed amateur radio operator in Tennessee who had already set up an active beacon on the 630 meter band. He eventually pulled the plug.
