New owner for\u00a0<\/span>Practical Wireless\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>RadioUser m<\/span>agazines<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Roger Hall & Steve Hunt have made the following announcement on the PW Publishing website:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are very pleased to announce that\u00a0<\/span>Practical Wireless<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>RadioUser<\/strong><\/span>magazines have been bought\u00a0by\u00a0Warners Group Publications, a Lincolnshire-based\u00a0multi-million-pound\u00a0turnover publishing company that specialises in producing magazines, websites and events for niche hobbies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They<\/span>\u00a0believe that both\u00a0<\/span>Practical Wireless<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Radio<\/span>User<\/span>\u00a0are an ideal fit with\u00a0<\/span>their\u00a0<\/span>business and have assured us they plan to use their publishing expertise and size to help develop both<\/span>\u00a0titles, giving them an assured long-term future<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Steve and I are aware that\u00a0<\/span>we were only the most recent custodians of\u00a0<\/span>two historic titles,\u00a0<\/span>Practical Wireless<\/span>\u00a0dating from 1932 and the\u00a0<\/span>RadioUser<\/span>\u00a0with its roots in\u00a0<\/span>Short Wave Magazine<\/span>\u00a0from 1937.
\nThat\u2019s why, when we decided to retire after being in publishing for almost 40 years, first with IPC and then with PW Publishing,\u00a0<\/span>we felt it was important to find<\/span>\u00a0a reputable company with the expertise and resources to make sure\u00a0<\/span>they will continue to be published for many years to come<\/span>. In Warners, we believe we have found just such a company and both\u00a0<\/span>PW\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>RU<\/span>\u00a0will continue to be the country\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>best-selling<\/span>\u00a0radio magazines<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the next few weeks we will be handing over all aspect of our business to Warners<\/span>\u00a0and they will be publishing both titles f<\/span>rom the October issues onwards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our existing Editors, Don Field and Georg Wiessala, will remain with their respective magazines. In addition<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0I will be staying on in a consultancy role to help with the transition and\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>assist Warners going forwards.<\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span>e\u2019d\u00a0<\/span>both\u00a0<\/span>like to thank\u00a0<\/span>all of\u00a0<\/span>you for the support you<\/span>\u2019ve<\/span>\u00a0given us and the magazines\u00a0<\/span>in the past<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0it\u2019s been an interesting few decades<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the next three months, Webscribe will continue to administer subscriptions, to assure a seamless handover, and new contact details will be forthcoming in due course.<\/p>\n
