More than once I&#8217;ve been in the middle of listening to a broadcast, or even chatting with a fellow radio amateur on the HF spectrum and the effects from a CME would, in essence, wipe us out.<\/p>\n<p>CMEs, in fact, have been getting <a title=\"NPR explains space weather and the CME heading our way\" href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/npr-explains-space-weather-and-the-cme-heading-our-way\/\" target=\"_blank\">a lot of publicity<\/a> as of late.
