While it might not be the world\u2019s first radio-transmitted cryptocurrency transaction, the devs insist it is the first one to be completed entirely off-grid.<\/p>\n<p>They managed to do it with just a portable hard drive, a solar battery pack, a shortwave radio, and, of course, some technical know-how.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these gadgets, the developers used open-source cryptocurrency Burst to conduct the experiment. For the record, the transaction was recorded on Burst\u2019s blockchain without the need for any mains power or data connections.<\/p>\n<p>One of the developers, Daniel Jones, has since teased an image of the improvised setup <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nixops\/status\/1041191833378816000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Twitter<\/a>:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It is with great honor I present to you the first <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24burst&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$burst<\/a> radio transaction.
