{"id":38511,"date":"2019-07-15T08:05:41","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T12:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/?p=38511"},"modified":"2019-07-15T08:05:41","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T12:05:41","slug":"amazon-prime-days-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2019\/07\/amazon-prime-days-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Prime Day(s) 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Screen-Shot-2019-07-15-at-7.50.45-AM-e1563191481176.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38512\" src=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Screen-Shot-2019-07-15-at-7.50.45-AM-e1563191481176.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today and tomorrow (July 15 and 16) Amazon.com carries on an annual tradition of offering deep discounts and flash sales for their Prime members&#8211;they call it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/l\/13887280011?pf_rd_p=284b4ae0-f042-41a9-bfdc-cac1e94c812d&amp;pf_rd_r=W3H60GD9BDE0T9PRDW90&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prime Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In all honesty, I&#8217;m not the biggest fan of Amazon Prime Day because when I check out the deals&#8211;and some of them are <em>pretty impressive<\/em>&#8211;I end up making a lot of impulse purchases. (Anyone else do this?)<a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/71kB4Fp2EsL._SL1200_-e1563191566707.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-38513 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/71kB4Fp2EsL._SL1200_-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With that said, each year Prime Day seems to include more and more items. I did a quick search this morning for &#8220;shortwave&#8221; and found at least one radio I&#8217;d recommend (the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Retekess-Emergency-Shortwave-Flashlight-Wireless\/dp\/B074DT6ZT4\/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=shortwave&amp;psr=PDAY&amp;qid=1563191063&amp;s=prime-day&amp;sr=1-13&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Retekess HR11S emergency radio<\/a> which is a great little radio to tuck away in your emergency provisions). It&#8217;s no DX machine, but it&#8217;s a capable little flashlight radio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=radio&amp;i=prime-day&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a number of other radios in the Prime Day lineup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a Prime member, you might give a quick browse of some of the deals. Again, I rarely make large purchases myself, but it&#8217;s a great time to find deep discounts on station accessories.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few searches you might try:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=aa+batteries&amp;i=prime-day&amp;crid=3BPM6MMPBJCBL&amp;sprefix=AA%2Cprime-day%2C262&amp;ref=nb_sb_ss_fb_1_2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rechargeable AA batteries<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=laptop&amp;i=prime-day&amp;tag=swlcom01-20&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laptops and tablets<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=headphones&amp;i=prime-day&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss_2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Headphones<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=raspberry+pi&amp;i=prime-day&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss_2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Raspberry Pi bundles<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=arduino&amp;i=prime-day&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss_2&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arduino bundles<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=hard+drive&amp;i=prime-day&amp;ref=nb_sb_noss_1&amp;tag=swlcom01-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hard drives<\/a> (for SDR recordings!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m planning to purchase a couple of surge protectors, a 2TB hard drive, and 16 rechargeable AA batteries.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the links above all have the <em>SWLing Post<\/em> affiliate code, which means it supports the <em>SWLing Post<\/em> (at no cost to you) when you make a purchase via the Amazon links provided.
