Who knew?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Several of you have written to me in the past few months asking about the new <a href=\"http:\/\/rover.ebay.com\/rover\/1\/711-53200-19255-0\/1?icep_ff3=9&amp;pub=5574879351&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5337138849&amp;customid=Quantum+SW+Radios&amp;icep_uq=Quantum+shortwave&amp;icep_sellerId=&amp;icep_ex_kw=&amp;icep_sortBy=12&amp;icep_catId=&amp;icep_minPrice=&amp;icep_maxPrice=&amp;ipn=psmain&amp;icep_vectorid=229466&amp;kwid=902099&amp;mtid=824&amp;kw=lg\" target=\"_blank\">Quantum analog shortwave radios found on eBay.<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"text-decoration: none; border: 0; padding: 0; margin: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/rover.ebay.com\/roverimp\/1\/711-53200-19255-0\/1?ff3=9&amp;pub=5574879351&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5337138849&amp;customid=Quantum+SW+Radios&amp;uq=Quantum+shortwave&amp;mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0The prices for the various models are anywhere between $20-40 US.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve resisted checking into these radios as they have very little technical information available and I assumed would not be worth the bother. In fact, sellers don&#8217;t even list the frequency coverage of the shortwave bands, only how many &#8220;bands&#8221; each unit has (i.e. &#8220;SW 1-7&#8221;). However, one unit (the\u00a0Quantum FX J-114U) is available on <a title=\"Amazon.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Quantum-J-114U-SW1-SW9-Radio-Player\/dp\/tech-data\/B0050CYRHA\/ref=de_a_smtd\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon<\/a>, and there have been a few favorable reviews. Now I&#8217;m a bit curious.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Do you have experience listening to shortwave on one of these radios?
