But as the industry transitioned from analog to digital and from paper to electronic filing, the Engineering Division\u2019s tasks have diminished.[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/news-and-business\/fcc-eliminates-its-own-engineering-division\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8230;<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-52583322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Last Nazi message intercepted by Bletchley Park revealed (BBC News)<\/a><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>The last German military communications decoded at Bletchley Park in World War Two have been revealed to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.<\/p>\n<p>They were broadcast on 7 May 1945 by a military radio network making its final stand in Cuxhaven on Germany&#8217;s North Sea coast.<\/p>\n<p>The message reports the arrival of British troops and ends: &#8220;Closing down for ever &#8211; all the best &#8211; goodbye.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After Germany surrendered, VE Day was declared the next day.<\/p>\n<p>In 1944, this German military radio network, codenamed BROWN, had extended across Europe sending reports about the development of experimental weapons.<\/p>\n<p>But a year later, as the Allies entered the town and closed in on his position, a radio operator at his post signed off to any colleagues who might still be listening.[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-52583322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8230;<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/05\/09\/853217003\/remembering-radio-caroline-founder-ronan-o-rahilly-a-pioneer-of-pirate-radio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Remembering &#8216;Radio Caroline&#8217; Founder Ronan O&#8217;Rahilly, A Pioneer Of Pirate Radio (NPR)<\/a><\/h3>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-43264-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/ondemand.npr.org\/anon.npr-mp3\/npr\/wesat\/2020\/05\/20200509_wesat_remembering_radio_caroline_founder.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/ondemand.npr.org\/anon.npr-mp3\/npr\/wesat\/2020\/05\/20200509_wesat_remembering_radio_caroline_founder.mp3\">https:\/\/ondemand.npr.org\/anon.npr-mp3\/npr\/wesat\/2020\/05\/20200509_wesat_remembering_radio_caroline_founder.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<blockquote><p>NPR&#8217;s Scott Simon talks to U.K. broadcaster Johnnie Walker about Ronan O&#8217;Rahilly, the founder of the pirate Radio Caroline, who died on April 20 at the age of 79.[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/05\/09\/853217003\/remembering-radio-caroline-founder-ronan-o-rahilly-a-pioneer-of-pirate-radio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8230;<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>French Society makes Radio REF free for April and May<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Paul Evans notes that two REF-Radio publications are now free to download via the REF website.
