\"\"<\/a>I’m absolutely chuffed to announce that the excellent Cities and Memory<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>sound project has partnered with the Shortwave Radio Audio Archive<\/a> for an all-new take on the soundscape of cities, and YOU are invited to be part of it.<\/p>\n

Open call \u2013 remix and reimagine the world of shortwave radio<\/a><\/h1>\n

Shortwave radio<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the most fascinating sonic worlds \u2013 capturing vital moments in world history as well as pirate radio, clandestine stations, secretive number stations and military and spy radio, all of humanity is there to be listened to at the turn of a dial.<\/em><\/p>\n

We\u2019re delighted to have teamed up with\u00a0The Shortwave Radio Archive<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>to present 100 incredible recordings from the history of shortwave radio all over the world for artists to remix and reimagine.<\/em><\/p>\n

Shortwave Transmissions<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is our latest global project, and we\u2019re calling for sound artists and musicians to get involved by reimagining shortwave radio recordings from across the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how to get involved:<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. Email us<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to let us know you\u2019re interested \u2013 and we\u2019ll send you the\u00a0database of recordings<\/strong>\u00a0to choose from.<\/em><\/li>\n
    2. Let us know your\u00a0top two choices<\/strong>, and we\u2019ll allocate one of those sounds to you to work with.<\/em><\/li>\n
    3. Create your composition<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 it must contain some elements of the original recording in some form, but otherwise is a completely free composition (music, sound art, radio art, composition, narrative storytelling \u2013 everything is valid!).<\/em><\/li>\n
    4. Submit your composition\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 the final deadline will be\u00a0Sunday 14 November.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
