(<a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/09\/jock-satisfies-his-inner-radio-nerd-with-a-deeper-dive-into-noaa-weather-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">That would be me<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You made special arrangements with the National Institute of Standards and Technology to visit WWV, the NIST time station in Colorado.<\/strong> (That would be our very own Thomas, Maximum Leader of SWLing.com. Check out <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/listening-to-wwv-at-the-source-fort-collins-colorado-usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this post<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You traveled to Newfoundland, Canada, to lay out hundreds of feet of wire to listen to tiny maritime weather stations in Northern Europe.<\/strong> (That would be Don Moore, and if you have not read Don\u2019s posts&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/12\/guest-post-don-targets-rare-norwegian-stations-during-newfoundland-dxpedition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this one<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/12\/guest-post-an-introduction-to-dxing-the-mf-marine-bands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this one<\/a>&#8211;you are in for a treat!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You see a display of pool \u201cfloaty\u201d noodles, and all you can think of is: \u201cConstruction materials for ferrite sleeve loop antennas.\u201d<\/strong> (That would be Gary DeBock, <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2020\/09\/gary-debock-experiments-with-fsl-antenna-nulling-to-eliminate-a-pest-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with this post<\/a> and numerous posts on SWLing.com.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You think it is fun to get up in the middle of a 10 degree Alaskan night to DX an Australian station 8,000 miles away and then find yourself on an Australian newscast.<\/strong> (That would be <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/paul-walker-featured-on-abc-news-breakfast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Walker<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You are constantly thinking about how you might improve reception at your station.<\/strong> (That would be most of us, I think.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You have accidentally said your Amateur Radio call sign at the end of a telephone conversation.<\/strong> (Me, again.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>You find yourself using ham lingo in ordinary conversation: \u201cI\u2019m going to QSY to the kitchen.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, are you a radio nerd?
