I use a 750 pf variable to tune the 2 windings and a switch is used to eliminate a winding.\u00a0 Since there is only one variable, if you listen to the medium waves I interrupt the winding of the shorts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">On shortwaves it is preferable to place the system on an iron railing which, due to inductive effect, behaves like a really long wire antenna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">For the mediumwaves it is enough to bring the receiver close to the ferrites and also in this case, the induction will have its effect with an excellent increase in signal and modulation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The range of this portable antenna is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>520 to 1800 kHz<\/li>\n<li>3.500 to 18.000 MHz<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Here&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/jk-kuON5yt8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a video from my Youtube channel<\/a> where I explain how it works:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jk-kuON5yt8?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I had previously built a similar antenna but with 12 cm ferrites&#8211;very portable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Thank you for your attention and I wish you good listening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">73.
