I mention this in <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/03\/a-review-of-the-icom-ic-705-qrp-portable-sdr-transceiver\/\">my IC-705 review<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, I realize that I may even use the IC-705 as much as I use some of my excellent computer-connected SDRSs (Software Defined Radios). The IC-705 is actually an SDR, too, just one that is self-contained, stand-alone, and powered by a rechargeable battery. It&#8217;s just so convenient and easy to use&#8211;plus it has very useful <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2021\/01\/the-icom-ic-705-is-about-to-achieve-holy-grail-status\/\">built-in recording\/playback functions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29330\" src=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1049\" height=\"1280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1.jpg 1049w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1-246x300.jpg 246w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1-768x937.jpg 768w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1-839x1024.jpg 839w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Elecraft-KX2-PK-Loop-RX-Antenna-1-624x761.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1049px) 100vw, 1049px\" \/><\/a>I also use my <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/a-review-of-the-elecraft-kx2-general-coverage-qrp-transceiver\/\">Elecraft KX2<\/a> for SWLing&#8211;although not designed for broadcast band listening, it does a pretty amazing job especially if your primary goal is weak-signal work.
