{"id":56447,"date":"2023-04-24T14:45:44","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T18:45:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/?p=56447"},"modified":"2023-04-24T14:48:13","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T18:48:13","slug":"bobs-bespoke-rack-of-radios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2023\/04\/bobs-bespoke-rack-of-radios\/","title":{"rendered":"Bob&#8217;s Bespoke &#8220;Rack of Radios&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Many thanks to <em>SWLing Post<\/em> contributor, <a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/tag\/bob-colegrove\/\">Bob Colegrove<\/a>, who shares the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>A Rack of Radios<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>by Bob Colegrove<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You simply cannot have enough radios \u2013 a principle I learned a long time ago.\u00a0 The difficulty occurs when it comes to storing them and yet having them at the ready when necessity calls.\u00a0 Turns out several of my portables fall within a dimensional range that they can be conveniently stored in a rack on the table.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56448\" src=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"663\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1.jpg 1100w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1-1024x617.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1-768x463.jpg 768w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image1-1-624x376.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I would like to say I made a project out of this choosing a fine hard wood for construction, carefully routing each divider into a finely milled slot, tastefully finishing the whole thing off with appropriate stain and varnish, and perhaps lining each slot with felt of finest virgin wool.\u00a0 However, never having been one to let form triumph over function, instead, I found a couple empty cracker boxes of the right dimensions, made a few cuts with a hobby knife, and applied some hot glue.\u00a0 Whalla!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Wait a minute.\u00a0 Is that an unused slot at the end?\u00a0 Hmm!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>I love it, Bob! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I mean, you know those cracker boxes just <em>wanted<\/em> to become a custom radio rack&#8211;!
