VOA Radiogram<\/a> is a new Voice of America program experimenting with digital text and images via AM shortwave broadcasting. \u00a0One might say this is the crossover point between classic shortwave and current technology. \u00a0It’s fun and fascinating stuff, and also has real utility.<\/p>\n

If you’ve been an SWLing Post reader for very long, you’ll be familiar with the\u00a0digital<\/a>\u00a0messages, otherwise known as radiograms, included in broadcasts from\u00a0The Mighty KBC<\/a>\u00a0and, earlier, from\u00a0WBCQ<\/a>. \u00a0We’ve also offered\u00a0a small primer on decoding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the near future, Dr. Kim Elliott’s digital radiograms will be broadcast through VOA via the Edward R. Murrow\u00a0Transmission\u00a0Station<\/a> in Greenville, NC.<\/p>\n

The new VOA Radiogram website contains time and frequencies and all of the information you’ll need to decode VOA radiograms.<\/p>\n
