{"id":60696,"date":"2024-09-20T19:34:10","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T23:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/?p=60696"},"modified":"2024-09-20T19:35:38","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T23:35:38","slug":"famous-collins-transceiver-in-apocalypse-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2024\/09\/famous-collins-transceiver-in-apocalypse-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Famous Collins Transceiver in Apocalypse Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>by Dan Robinson<\/p>\r\n<p>We have seen so many great receivers and other equipment appear in movies, it&#8217;s surprising that this one may have slipped by our Radios in Movies radar.<br \/><br \/>In Apocalypse Now, the classic 1979 epic war film produced and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) is briefed in a hotel room in Saigon about Colonel Kurtz (played by Marlon Brando), the renegade Special Forces officer who is accused of murder and presumed insane.
