I had planned to provide a brief review for <em>The SWLing Post<\/em> by early July, but my travel schedule has simply been too hectic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MTcover0813coverlg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6931\" alt=\"MTcover0813coverlg\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MTcover0813coverlg-230x300.jpg\" width=\"230\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MTcover0813coverlg-230x300.jpg 230w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MTcover0813coverlg-76x100.jpg 76w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MTcover0813coverlg.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 230px) 100vw, 230px\" \/><\/a>Fortunately, however, <strong>I offer a full in-depth review in the <a title=\"MT\" href=\"http:\/\/www.monitoringtimes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">August 2013 issue of <em>Monitoring Times<\/em> magazine<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(incidentally, their turn-around time from submission to print is simply amazing). If you subscribe to <em>MT<\/em>&#8211;or can get your hands on a copy&#8211;you will have my full review.<\/p>\n<p>Many of you have been asking me for my thoughts on the CR-1 so you will know whether or not to take advantage of promotional pricing.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell, here is the answer your question:<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Q: Is the CommRadio CR-1 a good deal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A: Yes!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Though I was skeptical about this little receiver when I first saw <a title=\"CommRadio is introducing the CR-1, a new tabletop shortwave receiver\" href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/commradio-is-introducing-the-cr-1-a-new-tabletop-shortwave-receiver\/\">the announcement in January<\/a>, the CR-1 truly does hold its own.\u00a0It&#8217;s a sturdy radio built with longevity and performance in mind.
