But they&#8217;ve been around much longer than the Cold War, indeed, they&#8217;ve been on the air since 1922 with their first transmitter station (RV-1) in the Moscow region.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, I&#8217;m sad to see them leave the shortwave spectrum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It appears the Voice of Russia will cease shortwave radio service on January 1st, 2014.
