RT\u00c9 Radio has announced<\/a> that it will broadcast the GAA All Ireland Hurling Final<\/a> on Sunday 8 September and the All Ireland Football Final<\/a> on Sunday 22 September via multiple sources including shortwave radio (frequencies and times below).<\/p>\n

RT\u00c9 Radio<\/a>\u00a0explains:<\/p>\n

“In Africa, where many Irish people live and work, often in relative isolation with poor communications, RT\u00c9 is providing special transmissions on shortwave radio.<\/p>\n

[…]These services are part of RT\u00c9\u2019s continued commitment to Irish people overseas and, over the years, has proven especially popular with those in geographically or technically isolated areas.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, RT\u00c9 will broadcast\u00a0both finals via the Internet, local radio and television.<\/p>\n

On shortwave, RT\u00c9 will broadcast on multiple frequencies–attempting to target most regions of Africa–so there’s a very good chance you could hear one.<\/p>\n

Both Finals throw in at 3:30 pm Irish Time (14:30 UTC)<\/p>\n

  • East Africa – 17725 kHz (2pm to 5pm)<\/li>\n
  • East Africa -11620 kHz (5pm to 6pm)<\/li>\n
