I still disagree."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8756\" alt=\"SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur\" src=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur.jpg\" width=\"805\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur.jpg 805w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur-300x172.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/SpectrumDisplay-31Meters-WinRadioExcalibur-100x57.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the most popular posts on the SWLing Post is one published nearly two years ago: &#8220;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/is-there-anything-to-listen-to-on-shortwave\/\" target=\"_blank\">Is there anything to listen to on shortwave?<\/a>&#8220;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In that article, I posted recordings made on the 31 meter band of eight different broadcasters, all of which I found within a 250 kHz chunk of bandwidth on a Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>On February 8th (this past Saturday), I recorded a 160 kHz chunk of spectrum on the 31 meter band with my <a title=\"A review of the WiNRADiO WR-G31DDC \u201cExcalibur\u201d software defined radio (SDR)\" href=\"http:\/\/swling.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/a-review-of-the-winradio-wr-g31ddc-excalibur-software-defined-radio-sdr\/\" target=\"_blank\">WinRadio Excalibur<\/a>, starting around 1:00 UTC and lasting for about 9 hours. \u00a0I made this spectrum recording in attempt to capture the Voice of Korea on one of their three scheduled frequencies.<\/p>\n<p>While VOK wasn&#8217;t audible enough to make a good recording, I did log the following stations all within this thin slice of radio spectrum (click on links for recordings):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/cj3vvmoawqz6hvy2pvzdsbqv44vdz2\" target=\"_blank\">Radio France International (9,790 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/pur089vh5fv22xfx8x3lff0hhyg63h\" target=\"_blank\">Radio New Zealand International (9,765 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>BBC World Service\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/n3n6w0mu7obvvk5wzl1uqrflkulsi7\" target=\"_blank\">English (9,740 kHz)<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/4attoclno2ys611up6m9spja7xp0z9\" target=\"_blank\">French (9,870 kHz)<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/luia98zuekmj5mbddj6nxqo8ofdx5a\" target=\"_blank\">Hausa (9,870 kHz)<\/a> and<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Listen to recording\" href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/hdhf5usk3no7tfzl3sn2gja06rb7lp\" target=\"_blank\">Pashto (9,820 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Voice of Iran\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/eavo3u5oji477ak498pr90n0qvub2d\" target=\"_blank\">Dari (9,740 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/ek60dzov94tylf7lmdsv490pg0w0os\" target=\"_blank\">Hebrew (9,755 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/hgjmezya1ktnabto2syyc30joqfbtd\" target=\"_blank\">Afia Darfur (9,845 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Voice of Turkey (9,820 kHz)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\/archive\/y9xc76xns7oet5aka034wycestq8xp\" target=\"_blank\">NHK Radio Japan (9,770 kHz)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>KBS World Service (9,805 kHz)<\/li>\n<li>Though not logged, I also heard Radio Havana Cuba, China Radio International, WRMI, China National Radio, WWRC, Deutsche Welle, Voice of Korea (faint) and many others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m guessing that I only logged 50% of what I heard as this list was put together from a quick scan through the recording. In fact, I&#8217;m systematically making recordings of each of these broadcasts, from the spectrum file, and adding them to the <a href=\"http:\/\/shortwavearchive.com\" target=\"_blank\">Shortwave Radio Audio Archive<\/a>.
