The survey\u00a0indicated that the\u00a0Broadcasting Board of Governers (BBG) had been ranked in the\u00a0<em>bottom five places to work<\/em> in the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/federal_government\/agency-tries-to-improve-its-low-employee-morale\/2014\/02\/18\/8d697ea6-98c0-11e3-80ac-63a8ba7f7942_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">the Washington Post<\/a>, the agency is now working on a plan to boost employee morale. Some of their initiatives include:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Agency directors and senior staff hold[ing] face-time sessions in the cafeteria for informal talks with employees, a \u201cCivility Campaign\u201d addresses labor-management issues, and a Workplace Engagement Initiative takes a deeper dive into the agency\u2019s low morale ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the morale-boosting events are meant to be fun, such as the raffle during the fitness-center open house, a chocolate bake-off in time for Valentine\u2019s Day, and ?after-work gatherings \u2014 a bingo night, happy hour, checkers and chess.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s going to take all that and some sustained work to improve the agency\u2019s failing report cards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/federal_government\/agency-tries-to-improve-its-low-employee-morale\/2014\/02\/18\/8d697ea6-98c0-11e3-80ac-63a8ba7f7942_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Read the full article on The Washington Post&#8230;<\/a><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Many thanks to Richard Cuff for the tip!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2012, we posted a survey from\u00a0the 2012 edition of\u00a0The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government\u00a0by The Partnership for Public Service and Deloitte.
