The CountyComm GP-5/SSB is a new AM/FM/SW portable with a unique vertical form factor–much like a small handy talkie (HT). The GP-5/SSB covers medium wave 520-1710 kHz shortwave 2,300-30,000 kHz and the FM band.
A unique feature of a radio in this price category ($80 US) is the ability to listen to LSB and USB single sideband reception. The GP-5/SSB has an Easy Tuning Mode (ETM) that helps you scan and store stations in temporary memory; a very useful feature for travelers. The GP-5/SSB also sports an external ferrite bar antenna that attaches to the top of the radio and is rotatable.
The CountyComm GP-5/SSB is scheduled to start shipping late November 2014.
