One of the radio sets is a KTF-1653 portable multiband, solar-powered radio.

I was in Limassol, Cyprus two weeks ago and checked out the BBC Gaza service at 1500 UTC (just about local sunset this time of year) on 639 kHz. Without knowing the exact content, I am sure that this service is of benefit to the refugees. Massive signal there and I assume similarly strong in Gaza. Years ago while in Beirut, the BBC WS and British Forces Broadcasting MW services from Cyprus were also strong there.

This post of today, Wednesday, 20.December, reminded me of an earlier posting about the use of radio in conflict .

Basic battery powered AM radio receivers coupled with easily constructed AM transmitter sites will be the “go-to” way of keeping people informed.
