Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Gérard Koopal, who writes:
Dear Thomas,
Just to let you know that Radio “De vliegende Hollander” will transmit on August 14th at 1800 UTC on 1467 kHz. from Roumoules in France with 500 kW.
Radio “De vliegende Hollander” is a LPAM-station from Meppel, the Netherlands.
I realize that this info will be more for Europeans but I hope that Roumoules reaches beyond the targeted area.

Almere,

That’s the old Transworld Radio site. ½MW from there will cover a good chunk of western Europe! It’s co-sited with the old LW transmitter. “The Flying Dutchman” will get huge coverage, particularly as the sun sets.
The English translation of the name of the opera: “The Flying Dutchman”, by Richard Wagner, probably the earliest of Wagner’s great music dramas, based on the legend of a “ghost” sailing vessel.
If 500kw is considered to be LPAM in Netherlands… I would wonder what one of the high power AM stations might run for power in the. Netherlands?
normally they broadcast with 50 watts from Meppel.
This is a special one time only event from Roumoules in France.
