Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Ed, who writes:
Hi Thomas,
I recently watched the Netflix “Original Series” called “Dark” and a 9:54 into the first episode a 1970’s vintage shortwave receiver is shown being operated.
I couldn’t figure out the make and model, but it may be a German radio as the sci-fi series was apparently produced in Germany. Maybe some SWLing Post readers can figure out what it is.
I do not recognize this receiver, Ed, but I’m willing to bet that some of our intrepid readers can! Please comment!
Of course, I’ll add this post to our ever growing archive of radios in film!
I agree with John: it is the Nordmende Stereo 5005.
The radio in Dark is a grundig rtv 600 radio 🙂

Easy one !
Definitely not the Grundig! I think it’s the Nordemende Stereo 5005!
I enlarged the image and had a better look at the radio. There seems to be a logo in the centre between the buttons and it has a bump in it. This ties in with the capital M in the Nordmende logo… ‘nordMende’ logo.
A quick search suggests that it is the nordmende stereo 5005.
I think you are correct. I found this link to a photo of the 5005.

It’s a telefunken concertino 3520 (or other similar model, they had a few like this)

hmmm. maybe not the 3520 now that i look again. but that is absolutely a telefunken.
From the buttons, I think it might be a Nordemende. It’s very similar to the Nordemende Globetrotter that I had in the late 60’s, early 70’s. Great radio, with incredible sensitivity and high fidelity. Mine had a teak outer case. If not a Nordmende, then a Telefunken. They had similar knobs and styling.
