I found some audio samples of the Tecsun H-501 via a Russian website linking a Chinese tube site. Audio from MP3 sounds really good.

I visited the webpage linked and copied and pasted some of the Chinese text into google translator wanting to get some clues on specs. Some of the results are funny but not very informative. The text under the picture with both the PL-990 and the H-501 with the with the red banner translate to.

The brothers are posing and will rob the radio enthusiast’s wallet in October.
