Gerry Thomas of Radio Plus is Silent Key

I’ve just learned via Paul (N0CTF) that Gerry Thomas of Radiosplus passed away on June 19, 2020. Many of you are likely familiar with Gerry’s excellent antennas and accessories, especially the Quantum Loop series and Q-Stick.

Gerry was always very kind to work with and obviously a very talented engineer.

He will certainly be missed.

Hello to all. My name is Jerry Neves and live in California. I have a quantum loop, plus a couple q- sticks I purchased from Gerry. I was so sorry to hear about his passing. Super nice and friendly gentleman.
Wonder if any of the readers know anyone that may repair the Quantum loop. Any help appreciated.
    Best regards.

The Quantum Radio Phaser is the best MW phaser that I’ve tried (better than the MFJ 1026).

Gerry was a great guy. Kind and talented. A very nice combo. I was trying to sent my Quantum Loop back to him for repair when I found out. He will be missed. A nice guy who built a great antenna.

Whilst I only dealt with Gerry once he was extremely helpful and friendly. My condolences to his family and friends. 🙁

Over the years, I purchased several of the Quantum loop antennas, and a Quantum phaser. Gerry was a extremely talented person, who always strived for excellence in his products and customer service. I had sent him an email earlier in the month to see how he was, never expected to hear that he had passed away. A great loss to the radio listening community. RIP Gerry.

As someone who has been dealing with Gerry on and off for many years, I am saddened to hear this. Still have the Q-Stick Plus and had been toying with the Quantum Loop “forever” but never went for it. A great proponent of the hobby, a one-man accessories factory, and a genuinely nice person.

Very sad to hear this news.Gerry said last fall he was going to close down the
business due to undisclosed health issues but this spring complained he
couldn’t because of a flood of new orders (the closing was mentioned here in a
      review of the Q-Stick).
He was a good guy who built quality products that you couldn’t find anywhere
      else.
If you missed the Q:-Stick try the “Greekstick” on ebay…costs more, not the same
build quality as the Q-Stick but works.
