Markku recommends the GP-5 Desk Pod (Gen 3) for the PL-368

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Markku (VA3MK), who writes:

I just received this stand today, works and fits well with my orange Tecsun PL-368.

What a nice and simple little stand! Thanks for sharing this, Markku. This would work (I assume) with any of the CountyComm and Tecsun Portables with a similar form factor.

This is what thinking out of the box is. The problem with these new generation DSP radios is not much if any thought at all is given to the user ergonomics and how it is used. The old generations were table radios on a bench or other surface.

I would like a floor stand for my D-808 with adjustable gimbals and pivots. After all SW radios were so big they were furniture.

    any thoughts?

Like all those Hallis and Hammarlunds that had the tuning knob on the left, or the Trio/Kenwood/copycat models with the speaker on the top or side? 😉

It’s a hockey puck!!! I have one of the originals labeled Pro-Flex from Canada. They make various rubber products including hockey pucks. It has acted as a great solid base for holding my County Comm GP5-SSB for several years. The one pictured in this story is different, but same cut outs. They probably found a new supplier. I highly recommend it.
