SWList: A new shortwave schedules app for iOS devices

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Stefano Rampazzo, who recently contacted me regarding his new iOS app called SWList.

SWList pulls all of its radio schedule information from the excellent EiBi list and stores it locally of offline use.

Here are a few screenshots from my iPhone 12 (click images to enlarge):

If you have an iPhone or iPad, you might give this app a try. It isn’t free, but at $3.99 it’s an affordable app.

Click here to check it out in the iOS App Store.

Spread the radio love

If I can, I’ll take advantage of this open discussion to update you on the follow-up to SWList.
SWList has now reached version 1.4 and in addition to some improvements, some of which were inspired by your comments, I have implemented hamlib support.
Hamlib is an open source that allows you to drive receivers that allow it from software applications even via LAN.
Now SWList can automatically search for the frequency tuned on the receiver. Conversely, you can tune the receiver simply by tapping on the frequency found in the list.
If anyone needs support installing hamlib I’m available.
Also welcome to have some feedback on this feature.

Always happy to support a radio-related app. One question, though: I don’t seem to see the times of the broadcasts. I can see the station, location, distance to my QTH, target, but where is the time???

I cant find the UTC times either.
I’ve downloaded it for my iPad but it looks nothing like the screenshots which are coloured but my version is B&W.
Also, I can’t go back to the front page because once I open Frequencies or Bands it blanks out and there is no way to return except to close the app and start again.
It’s a shame, as it does say for “iOS ” devices and could be potentially very useful but maybe it works on iPhones only and iPads.

        Hello Gerry,
I’m the author,Stefano, please write me to [email protected] if you need any help
Concerning the problems you have reported here :
        – to exit from Frequencies or Band just slide down the floating window and you will return to the front page
        – the colourated version is shown when the device is in dark mode
Anyway in the settings is also possible to force the SWList to operate always in dark or light mode.

Concerning the screenshot published here I can see there is a problem caused by a setting of the iphone of Thomas : it seems his phone is set to big characters
I was not able to reproduce this problem with a lot of different hardware
Don’t exitate to contact me for suggestions and error reports. Thanks !

I have been using an app I like(d) from Black Cat Systems called SWBC Sked or Shortwave Broadcast Schedules on iOS for several years now. I like the interface but it has been over 5 years since the app was updated and the frequency updates do not seem very complete when they happen.

Maybe it’s time to try something new?

I’ve only just migrated back to Android due to a lack of decent SW apps, and now this comes out.
Oh well. You have to laugh.
