Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor Frank, who recently shared a blog post he put together outlining some well-known shortwave receiver models and their background. It’s a curated list with brief summaries and links for those interested in the history of these classic rigs.
What a wonderful article with great information and some excellent nostalgic images of so many fine receivers. As an owner/custodian of a T600 Transoceanic, I would be very grateful to the author for more information on the photo of the leather jacket clad, bearded individual listening intently to a slide rule 600 series Transoceanic. I have the fine book on the history of the transoceanic by Cones & Bryant, but have not ever seen this picture, looks like something from the Bay of pigs invasian period.
Thanks Frank for sharing your incredible blog and as always thanks Thomas for providing this great radio platform for us enthusiasts. Vy73, Rick VE1RNM
