Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor Scott Gamble, who writes:
For the past several weeks I have been beta testing a new iOS app – Echo: Global SDR Receiver. Echo is the first SDR client custom-built natively for iOS, and launched today (March 31) in the App Store. I have found it to be a very capable listening companion and is very stable for long listening sessions spanning multiple SDR receivers.
Echo provides connectivity to over 2,000 remote SDR receivers (KiwiSDR, OpenWebRX, WebSDR, and FM DX), accessible by multiple search capabilities including a world map display, offline frequency library, station logging, and, owing to its native iOS development, features full background audio for uninterrupted listening. The iOS version supports both iPhone and iPad. More information is available at https://echosdr.com.
The App Store link is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/echo-global-sdr-receiver/id6759174390
The developer, Mark Garrison, is very engaged with users, and there is an active Discord community of current Echo users.
Enjoy!

Thank you so much for the tip, Scott!

It looks great! Will it eventually be available for Android?
Yes I’m working on the Android version soon!
Hi,
Your new APP: Global SDR looks great. Really would like to use it.
As usual, having all sorts of trouble with the Apple APP Store.
Even with the correct Password, it won’t let me download.
Willing to blame it on old age now, but truly feel it’s due to them.
Anyway, any chance of simply sending it to me (for my mac) ?
Would be most appreciative.
Thanks,
Bob. [email protected]
What, please, is the cost for the Echo APP from the Apple Store for the mac ?
Bob
Hi Bob, it’s Free
I saw the website.
Very nice app, it will definitely introduce new listeners to the world of shortwave.
I’m sorry it’s not available here in Italy.
Happy to see more and more radio apps for Apple world!
Hi this is Mark, the developer of Echo. The app is still rolling out to all regions globally, the App Store takes some time to populate in all locales. It will be available in your region shortly!
Hot off the press!
Wish you the best!
Exciting concept! I immediately rushed to the app store but it said the app is currently “not available” in my “country or region” ;=)
