Anna [at Anon-Co] has the PL-680 in stock according to a email I received from her this morning. Readers who are interested in ordering the radio should be aware of the Chinese New Year and the potential for delays.
Thanks, Steve. I received a similar email from Anna. They have listed the PL-680 on their website and, I’m sure, will post on eBay soon. The price is $95 US plus shipping; a reasonable price, if the PL-680 is an improvement over the PL-660.
I have already ordered a PL-680 from Anon-Co and it is on the way. I paid extra for FedEx shipping, so it should arrive before week end. I’ll post updates as I test this radio.
As Steve mentions in his note, Anon-Co will observe the Chinese New Year and will be unavailable from February 13th to the 26th.
I *should* have at least a preliminary review posted before the 26th so those of you who are tempted by the PL-680 will at least have some insight prior to purchase.

I’d almost pay to essentially buy the 660 over again for the larger buttons.
I would very much like to see improvement in MW, too.
Though I guess there’s nothing unusual with keeping a radio handy for SW, another for MW, and another for FM, right?
Mike: The more radios, the better! 🙂 I definitely have dedicated MW receivers and dedicated SW receivers. But, admittedly, I’m a bit of a radio addict.

I’ve been watching since the rumors started back in December I guess it was for this one to come out. Kills me that I’ll have to wait until after the end of the month to get one!
If the ‘680 has the sensitivity of the ‘660 and has better AGC. It’ll be a winner. Also, it would be a plus if it performed well as an AM BCB DX radio too. I have the ‘880 and the ‘380 and the much cheaper ‘380 has the ‘880 beat hands down for good old AM DX. It’s getting very hard to find a AM DX radio that also handles SW well too, and vice versa.
I’m really looking forward to the review Thomas!
The controls are identical to the PL-660. I wonder if it’s just a packaging update. At a slightly better price, hitting the <$100 mark, this thing could be a real winner. I'm very much looking forward to your review.
Interesting. Has the squared off look of the PL-600 but the buttons are closer to those of the PL-660. Price point a little less than the 660 at $95. I’ll be interested to read the comparison. Thanks.
