Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, John K5MO, who writes:
Hi Thomas
Just a heads up if you didn’t know…openwebrx has a new release and it’s a good one. No more muddling around with a text editor to change configurations, rather there’s a built in editor for this purpose. The release is V1.0 and it can be found

Thank you for the tip, John!
I think there was a dispute between the Kiwi developer and the Chap that designed OpenwebRX, I don’t remember the full story, perhaps someone here can fill us in ?
You are right, there was a dispute. As KiwiSDR was forked from OpenWebRX, the original developer of OpenWebRX became unhappy with several things related to this. Read here about the dispute and its resolution: https://blog.sdr.hu/2016/04/15/news.html
SWLing Post failed to report all this. Instead SWLing Post shamelessly promoted the other side by promoting KiwiSDR. I assume, taking sides was unintentional.
OpenWebRX is the software behind the KiwiSDR receivers — so when you’re using a Kiwi SDR you are using the OpenWebRX platform.
I haven’t heard of this variation. Is this like a kiwiSDR or Perseus SVR?
