SX43
I don’t know the exact model at that time, but I know it was one of the Hallicrafters radios I wanted but couldn’t afford.
It looks like a Hallicrafters SX-42 shortwave radio with a missing knob on the left hand end of the bottom group of three knobs under the circular gauge.
SKY KING SKY KING? DO NOT ANSWER!!!
Well, I think it is the SX-42. A friend of mine had the Hallicrafts Super Skyriders SX-17. What a beautiful radio! He and I went to this veteran ham radio operator’s house. He was selling some old gear. I chose a Hammarlund HQ-129x and a homebrew AM tube transmitter made here in Brasil. This friend of mine got the SX-17 which reminded me of submarine radios. I wonder if he still has it.
Hallicrafters SX-42 with one knob missing. Amazingly enough the director missed that or took it off to make it look different is my best guess.
