Nearly 50 years after the iconic TV series WKRP in Cincinnati first aired, the call letters have officially returned—this time on a real FM station in Cincinnati. The new WKRP(FM) launched on 97.7 MHz, even featuring a familiar voice from the original show to mark its debut.

Everyone remembers that wonderful quote from Turkeys Away, but I have a different favorite quote from WKRP in Cincinnati. I don’t recall which episode, but Arthur and the station lawyer are in the office, and Arthur says something such as, “That’s not right.” To which the lawyer replies, “Arthur, we’re not talking about right and wrong, we’re talking about the law!”.

Thanks for sharing this great news. I’m the morning “dude” on WKRP in Cincinnati. We’ve got a great staff of caring people who love radio and want to give people a reason to turn theirs on again. HUGE music library, short commercial sets (we DO have to make some money) -and a station built for people who also listen to Shortwave. We’ll be in the thick of the Dayton Hamvention -because one of our 3 signals is strong in Dayton. We’re on the iHeart radio app (sounding great) -just search WKRP Radio. 73.
